> P800 set up as Modem INFO here!
Bookmark topic
I noticed there isn't much info on how to set up a P800 as a modem out there. so here is what I did, and it now works. So i decided I would post, because if it helps even one person, that is worth it to me.
This is with T-Mobile.
My set up info:
Windows 98 Version 1
SE P800
This is with T-Mobile and I am using the $19.99 internet upgrade option.
Connection through Blue Tooth
Call your service provider and have them send your phone the auto setup file for gprs internet… mine looked something like:
Internet2.voicestream.com
As apposed to
Wap.voicestream.com for t-zones wap internet (the $5 plan and such)
This is for t-mobile

Install Blue Tooth software/hardware
Install dcom1_3 file from Microsoft (SE PC suite will tell how to get the file)
http://www.microsoft.com/down[....]9d-0867f9bdda66&displaylang=en
this is where i got it
Install SE PC Suite (I used the version 1)
Make sure phone will connect through Blue tooth and pair
In system tray, right mouse click the icon and click properties
Uncheck all connections
Go to control panel – modem – make sure there is a blue tooth modem listed, click properties, see what com port it is on, mine was com7. click ok to return to the ‘modem’ window.
Click the diagnostics tab in the modem window and select the blue tooth modem com port. Click ‘more info’ and hopefully it will check and bring up a new little window with more misc info. If it doesn’t work, try a few more times. If still no luck, move on to the next steps, it will might work…
Go to control panel – network – make sure there is NO IPX/SPX protocol. If there is, remove it! (unless you are certain you NEED it there) To connect through the phone’s modem it will work only with TCP/IP.
Go to ‘entire blue tooth network’ or the like, depends on your Blue tooth adapter.
P800 icon should be shown as connected
Double click P800 icon
Double click dial up network
Enter number to dial.
Number to dial. I use T-Mobile and this is the number I used: *99***3#
3 is the CID for me… yours may be different. If it doesn’t work try other numbers 1-9… shouldn’t be higher than that.
There should be no user name or password for T-Mobile
This is what worked for me. Took hours and hours to get it figured out… but it is worth it!
Your exact set up may differ.
Hope this helps!!!!

old news for some, new for others. I was looking for news like this yesterday morning... searching my guts out on this board and the internet... and I got bits and pieces... it was difficult.
