I may be in the US but I bought a 910a direct from sony and it came unlocked and so far it works with my AT&T sim chip, my parents Cingular sim chip and my friends in Califonria use T-mobile and it worked thier too. The only problems i had were setting up the MMS with AT&T and the vocie mail does not work at&t says it is sonys problem while sony says it is AT&T's problem. But other then taht it worked great i am very happy.....especially since I found this site and all the cool stuff on it.Kinda sad I am in the US cause it sounds like everybody in europe has more fun with bluetooth, I can hardley find anyone here with it.

Opps just noticed the date that this was posted oh well

@dekesh,

Yup.. In UK these Tel Company will be branding their phones.

O2 didn't brand their phone but they also put a theme made from O2 also.. But we all like just normal P9XX series, no one like branded stuff because the menus are ugly.. hehe

I've got a P900 from O2 that has an 02 screen on startup/shutdown. Nothing like the 'Orange Screen' that people describe appearing on every flip-open though.

I presume the phone is locked to only accept O2 sim cards, but I haven't tried any others, so I can't confirm this.

The O2 version is unlocked. One problem though is that the O2 firmware is quite old and has not been updated. My O2 P910 will be getting a generic flash fairly soon.

Dave: Is that just for P910, or P900 as well? Is my firmware old? Am I missing out on performance and/or functionality by not having it flashed?

Here's the info from my P900:

PDA Software Version: R3A06 (031212 10:33)
Phone Software Version: R3C006
