The world's first mobile phone-controlled robot is to be launched in Japan next month.
The robot can be made to walk, jump and wave its hands via Bluetooth over a range of up to 10 metres.
The aluminum robot will be sold online as a self-assembly kit for about £1,000.
It has been created by KDDI and I Bee KK and is operated by a Toshiba mobile phone.
The robot is designed for entertainment but KDDI and I Bee hope to also turn it into a roving home security camera.

I agree, but the only problem is that the Aibo does'nt have Bluetooth..and as far as i know it can't be controled via a mobile.

The controls consist of downloading this appli from an exclusive server, then connecting to the robot via Bluetooth. Also, optional operations can be downloaded and added to the appli, and actions can also be created for the robot using the included PC software.
