There has been much speculation from many different users on their views on the V800 and Z1010.

Those of you that are from UK may have seen or read the "What Cellphone" magazine, which is the UK's no.1 mobile phone user guide magazine. They do various testsa, reviews on nearly every single phone out there.

The was a test report done on the V800 and Z1010 and in summary this is what their experts view were based on their findings:

Please note this is just a brief summary, not full review:

Ease of use:
V800: 8/10
Z1010 8/10

Features:
V800: 9/10
Z1010:9/10

Call Quality:
V800: 9/10
Z1010: 9/10

Built Quality:
V800: 8/10
Z1010: 9/10

Battery performance:
V800: 7/10
Z1010: 9/10

Overall rating:
V800: 92%
Z1010: 91%

Some of you may be thinking, well how did V800 get a slightly higher overal rating even though Z1010 was given high scores on certain individual benchmark tests...To be honest, I don't know but you can check it in their magazines.

Reference: "what cellphone" magazine

V800 was tested on Vodaphone 3G (since V800 will only work on Vodaphone of course) and Z1010 was tested on 3 (UK).

@dhallug

I would have thought that the V800's smaller size and better camera may have increased its score, as you said, it wasn't the full review that you posted.

The Z1010 still looks to be a very good handset, but its size is its biggest flaw.

I have found my V800's battery life to be excellent, it lasts far longer than other 3G handsets I have used. I haven't conducted a proper test yet, but my V800 seems to have a comparable battery life to my S700.

yeah it was just a general summary, the magazine goes into more detail but the ratings given were the same. further details are in the mag.

generally speaking, sony ericssons batteries are far far better then other models from other brands. Nokia's are just ridulous.

I have to say the V800 is the best phone i have had so far, prefer it to the P series as well (i know horses for courses).

I like it even more that its decustomized, and after owning a Z1010 i can tell you there is definatley more than 1% difference in their appeal. In my opinion of course.

The V800 really is a top notch handset, I have been most impressed with it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good 3G handset or even just a good mobile phone in general.

Well, I've got the Z1010, and I agree, the size is it's biggest con. But that is also pretty much the only, cause I really do love my phone

Thx for posting, interesting read
