Is there anyone out there using bluetooth with Mandrakelinux 10.1? I am a brand new Linux user and am struggling to connect my P900 to my PC via bluetooth. In Windows I used to sync my P900 with Outlook and I used to use my P900 as a modem. How do I do this in Linux? If I try setup a new Internet connection in Linux I only get the options of selecting 8 different ports on which a modem should be attached. How do I tell Linux to use my P900? Which would be better/easier to use - bluetooth or the sync station? Please can someone tell me exactly how to configure my Linux to allow this. Thanx sooooooo much.

I read all the info - wow, very confusing. I tried playing around with the rfcomm stuff. Can't get it to work :-( Think I'm just gonna go back to Windows.

Linux is too much effort for my liking. Windows may take a little fiddling around with to get it to work, but at least the majority of stuff works with it.
If you have problems with Windows XP, you can't be that bright!
My current installation of XP dates back to 2001. Sure i've had my fair share of problems, but nothing i haven't been able to fix.
Tried linux a while back - took me forever just to get the damn sound working.. Screw that!
Stick to what you know mate

YEAH!!!! Got my dialup working :-) Took a while, but I got it. I have to type the following in the command window: rfcomm 0 connect (my phone's bluetooth add) 7. Then I click connect on kppp (it being configured to use rfcomm0). Pretty cool. I see that using KMail (Kontact) uses a bit less data transfer than Outlook did when sending e-mail. I also see Kopete (instant messenger for icq/aol/msn/yahoo etc) uses very little data transfer too - will definitely im more often now :-) I think I'll still keep XP though. Will partion my hard drive and use both. You say your linux sound didn't work either? I have the same problem :-( How did you fix that?

how are you liking the P series connectivity with Linux and was it hard to set it up? I am thinking about creating a Linux partition on my machine.
