I bought the V800 and is now using it in Hong Kong. I am having trouble with every single operator here. I can't see the video and if I log on to their start page (something like live or today on 3), I always only able to get to their 2.5G network menu instead of the 3G menu. I was told the network can tell what phone I am using and will send whichever menu depending on what my phone is. As there is no V800 in Hong Kong, they say the system assume it is a 2.5G phone instead so I cant see video or stuff that my phone should be able to see.

So I am wondering how do the network/system tell what phone I am using?

Is there a way to trick it!?

Thanks....

@ Dumbdumb,

can u ask the telco to send the settings as SE Z1010? it is a 3G phone and the spec should be the same with V800. Have a shot...=)

u may struggle if it hasnt been released on the network properly... a lot of the networks dont support phones until they sell it because the message centres and other things need to have set up done to make them work. so it may just be because of that.

Hope this helps.

Call cust care or walk into one of their showrooms. Tell them your problem and how you think it can be rectified. (I doubt it will work as z1010 is a umts phone.) This message was posted from a K500
