Quick question
If i were to get the V800, does that automatically give me access to voda-live 3G or do i need a new sim card.
Also, i will be spending most of my time in a 3G dead zone does that mean i will get the vodafone bog-standard services (i.e. normal voda live) or will i not be able to connect to anything?

You need a new 3g sim. it will not accept a regular sim.

Actually you dont!
Got a V800 from Voda, unlocked it and am now using my Orange 2g simcard in it. Got full access to all Orange 3g content at gprs speed.
Cheers

I believe to use Voda's 3G services, you will need a new Voda sim as 3G sims tend to be USIMS and are a little different. However i think the main difference is memory, so you might be able to phone up voda and get them to activate 3G services on you old sim i doubt it but worth a try.

Nope, u will be ok with a standard vodafone sim... All u will need to do is request voda to place the VIDEO CALLING SOC (tell customer services that EXACT line and they will put it on straight away without questions)...
Once that is on u will have FULL access to all our 3G services.

@bard108
As far as 3G coverage is concerned, London should be one of the best areas in the UK. Coverage is not complete yet, so you may very well find that there are areas where you cannot get a 3G signal. I recommend that you have a look at Vodafone's coverage maps, which should give you a good idea as to how much 3G coverage you can expect.
