> t610 won't charge - voltage issue?
Bookmark topic
i live in hong kong, bought a tmobile t610 phone from the US here in HK, have not had problems at all with power before (have a SE charger from HK)
took it to the US and it wouldn't charge there - plugged charger into plug adapter (not voltage adapter, since it's supposed to be universal voltage) and nothing.
now i'm back in HK, my battery has not been charging the last few days. for awhile if i plugged in the charger it would not charge half the time. i would have to re-plug it in a number of times until it said "optimized charging" and then that (along with the sound it triggers) would pop up randomly throughout the charge session, as if it were being plugged and replugged.
Now it's the same plug and re-plug but now it seems that it's not charging at all, even tho the charging meter says so.
What's going on? Did something happen during the voltage difference or do i have bad contacts or ... ? TIA

Have you got a multimeter to check the output of the charger?

i had a problem too... but... it may really be charging and u not knowing it... turn ur phone off... plug it into the charger... turn it back on.... liek 30 mins later, unplug it and restart it again, and check ur battery meter. try that, it worked for me.

Check if your charger is Auto-Volt.
Regarding the random restarting of the charging process, either your battery or your charger has some problems. Try to use another charger and see if the same happens, if it does, then it's most probably your batteries that needs to be replaced.

Just use another charger. I dont know about you guys, but I think the SE chargers are not made well. Over the years, I had about 3 SE chargers that does exactly what you said... won't charge for a while and then suddently you hear the "ding" sound and the phone starts to charge for a while again. It does it all through the night. I think it is a comon problem. My girlfriends charger for her T630 started doing the same thing recently. I tried plugging my new V800 in and the same things happens.
Another thing you can try is to lift up and down the END of the plug that is pushed into the phone... you might find moving the plug up and down will start the charging process again. (push up and down the part where the plug ends and the cord start, like tilting... with pivot point at the phone). I find my chargers to have contact points problem with the phone. (well also you might want to try to clean the two copper plate at the bottom of the phone too)
Anyway, if that is your problem, go buy a charger in MongKok... I think it is something like HKD80... but the last time I bought one is several years ago so I am not sure. I am just using my left over charger from the T39/68/610...

Its almost definately the Charger/cable. Get a a new one. I too had plenty of problems with SE chargers even fromt he ericsson times.
I have managed to solve some issues by using a sharp pencil to polish the contacts underneath, but warning... before you do this, turn the phone off and remove the battery.
