I have a p900 and am having problem backing up.
It gets as far as starting the back up, but hangs after rebooting the phone.
It seems that after the phone has rebooted the system will not detect the phone. I have tried downloading the latest version of the sync software and disabling my virus and firewall software but this has made no difference. Can anyone help ?

maybe is a "disk full problem":
Remove sim card , turn on phone at the enter pin access the secret menu to make a master reset. (data will be lost)
Try accessing secret menu (there there are some options like format disk and so on): Jog dial up , * , jog dial down , jog dial down , * , jog dial down , * .
Good luck !

I don't see how thats really going to help the guy - he's trying to backup his phone, and you're telling him how to erase it all... hmm!
I suggest you try uninstalling a couple of unwanted or unimportant applications from the phone, and check how much disk space you have. If its low (on internal memory), try and free some space up, and attempt to back up again. If that doesn't work, it's probably not a lack of space, in which case you'll have to ask the others for advice!
Good luck,

Edit: One more thing, you don't need to remove the SIM card to access the diagnostic menu, it can be done with it in.

Thanks for your help guys but I don't think its a memory problem.
Internal memory is on 23% full.
The problem occurs when the phone switches itself on and off to commence backup.
It does the same thing if I undock the phone and reseat it. (i.e. when the phone is placed back in the cradle it will no longer be detected)

maybe related - (I have a P800) with magic profiles pro installed and enabled, my backups always fail at the same point. However if I disable MPPro before the backup, no problem...
