I think you can download the language packs for the phones, so you can switch between english and chinese, but i'm not sure if the phone is capable of working all over the world on all networks (both chinese and american), as i'm from the UK.

Can anybody shed some light on that for him?

yes let me shed some light on the matter.

so you want to use Your P910 in both America and China,

well in the US a p910a uses
GSM 1800
GSM 850
GSM 1900

The chinese version the P910c uses
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900

so if you can find a network in china and america which uses either
GSM 1800
GSM 1900

you're sorted.

hope this helped.

im not concerned with networks, I'm more concerned with the language, will I be able to convert the system back and forth between chinese, or is there software for the p910i that can write and read chinese?

To author of thread, you should be concerned. This is because, america user a different bandwidth freq. That means, if you purchase it from china, it will not work in america, and viceversa. Get it? Thus as gbrooks said, you will need to find those out. This applies to all phones, not just SE. If it is china and uk, i suggest you buy it without blinking an eye. America needs everything special. well I use T-Mobile and I have heard they operate on 1900. Although I need to double check that. The only difference is the chinese version has 900 not 850, can anyone explain this to me.?

America uses 850 while the rest of the world user 900. That means, the 900 bandwidth will be useless to you in america. If t mobile uses 1900, then you got nothing to worry bout. This message was posted from a K500
