Hi guys, i just had one of those weird ideas...
Does anyone know if the radio would work on the k700 if you were just to plug in the connector, and cut the cable from the connector to the earphones????
I already have a hbh600, so i dont really need a handsfree, and i never use the radio with the earphones, just in speaker mode. Plus i find it really annoying to carry the earphones around with me hense the cables tangle up oh so easily, specially when i dont even want all those cables...
I would be grateful if you could post your thoughts, if anyones allready tried this, or if anyone has a spare/broken (preferably broken

) handsfree to experiment on.
Thanks for listening (reading) lol
Cheers

the manual states that the reason the headset has to be plugged in is because the cable is used as an aerial.
for this reason, what you want to do probably would work but reception would probably not be good

well the problem is the cable IS the FM antenna.... so I guess if you left the cable dangle it would work but i don't know...

Thats my major dilemna... my guess is that the antenna part is in the connector, not in the cable that goes to the earphones... I think im going to have to leave my experiment on standby until i can get hold of another SE handsfree

@govigov, I doubt an ericsson cable would work cause it's not designed to act as a reciever

It's quite likely that the earphone wire is also used as the antenna. You could try to work out which wire is used as the aerial, cut the rest of them, and attach this wire to the side of your phone (no tangled wires)
