> DSS-25 don't connect as new driver :s

I have a problem since I re-installed XP and removed everything from hardrive: When I connect DSS-25 to usb-port it doesn't pop-up about that a new driver is connected. And it dont connect when I've installed PC Suite...
How do I do to make my computer see it as a new driver?

Sounds like you must've screwed something up in the USB.
Check that you have WXP Service Pack 2 installed, the latest USB drivers, etc. If this doesn't work, the only thing i can suggest without actually physically being on the PC to investigate further would be to reinstall Windows XP.

@Leks If I understand you correctly you have a USB device not being seen since XP re-install yet other USB devices are OK.
If the other devices are USB2 and the DS25 is the only USB1.X device then it _could_ be driver (although I would have expected USB1.X device to work and have probs with USB2) but I suspect more the DS25 is the problem.
I take it you have no yellow ! in device manager.

no, no warning sign or anything. I don't have any usb 2.0 ports. If I remeber right this happend also when I had a P800 and DSS-20 after I re-installed XP

Hi There,I have just gone through exactly the same thing.I have been trying to decide whether to go for the updated treo 650 or the sony ericsson p910i,after scouring the internet i decided to go with the 910i,and change from the treo platform(at present I have Treo 600).I got my P910i sat morning just gone at 9am,I could not get it to connect to the computer,I tried everything,Started from scratch about Five times,Followed sonys instructions to the point.A friend come round whos connected loads of phones and laptops,he went right through everything disabled all the ports,and still it would not connect,BUT the windows software had accepted it as new Hardware we had the wiggly line at the bottom which moved proving that we physically had the connection,THE SONY P910 STILL WOULDNT LINK.He analysed that the fault was with the sony software.We scoured forums until 2.00am and found that you had to download the latest software from se.We uninstalled the original PC suite,and downloaded the new,Guess What,it still didnt work!!!!I fiddled around sunday a couple of time then resolved my self to ringing Orange,who didnt want to know as it was not a network problem.So monday I phoned se,After about three calls and trying several different things and checking settings the last guy i spoke to said,it may not work with the XP service pack,also to uninstall my anivirus programs.Also the windows fire wall.Well i backed up my music,then put in the system restore discs to take it back to a fresh start.It then worked,not that i was that bothered after all the hassle.I reloaded all my programs,and the XP service packs,and the antivirus progs.IT WOULDNT SYNC OR CONNECT.The short story now is that It WILL SYNC and CONNECT,if i turn off my antivirus(NORTON),and Turn of all my windows firewalls and antivirus.NOT forgetting to unplug from the broadband connection first.IS IT ME????or isnt this absolutely disgusting for a new product???LETS have some peoples views on this.AND to top it of my OPERA browser wont work?i apparently need proxy settings?(more hassle!!!!).The camera is dreadful on inside shots,being very red.My Treo 600 came in the post,I loaded the software cdrom,the wizard connected the treo,I loaded all the software and it WORKED!wthout altering anything!!WELL DONE PALMONE!! At this moment in time i wish i had upgraded to the treo 650!!! Maybe the 910i will grow on me???????Lets have some more views!!!!

I have absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. It it evident that the phone is connecting to the PC from a fresh install without a problem, and it refuses to connect after you install all your software. Why are you saying its the P910i's fault? It's obviously not, as it's connecting to the PC without a problem before you install all your software.
If you had any common sense, you would pinpoint the piece of software you're installing which prevents the phone from connecting and look further into the issue, and find a possible workaround...
It's not rocket science guys, no need to start saying the P910i is rubbish because it's probably the best PDA/Phone on the Market, and beats a Treo600 anyday. I suggest you think a little more before you start blaming a phone.

Hi there,with respect i understand where you are coming from.The software that is causing the trouble is Norton,and windows firewalls.Now being sensible,I cant completely remove these from my computer,so when i want to sync or upload programs to my P910i i have to pull out the broadband,disable the norton,then turn of the windows firewalls.Which is totally crazy,and alot of hassle.And this is after downloading the updated PC Suite from se.My argument is that my Treo600 took about an hour and a half to set up,and it all worked out of the box!!!And it has never given me any hassle.Of course i appreciate that the p910 has a better screen etc,although the treos is alot brighter,and the alarm volumes on the treo are alot louder by far.I hope I can work through these initial grudges and grow to like the phone,ive just got of to a bad start!!!!
