I recently got a p900 off ebay (supposed to be unlocked and unbranded-but thats another story) i bought a terminator dongle and unlocked the phone (originally t mobile) for use on vodafone,i deleted everything i could to do with the t mobile gprs settings,although some were greyed out and weren't deleteable.I went the SE website and sent the gprs settings straight to my phone along with the mms settings.
I am unable to browse the internet,send or receive mms messages and unable to send or receive email.
I can browse the web with opera with a passthrough connection but thats all.
when i do try to do any of the above - i get the gprs globe type icon at the bottom of the screen and the blue bars above the signal strength bars and it says that gprs is attached-but no web pages will load etc...
I have checked with vodafone that gprs is enabled and nothing is barred and thats ok.
To me it seems like it must be something to do with the old t mobile crap on the phone that i can't delete(i have got the vodafone settings as 'preferred' connection).
I don't really want to go to the expense of debranding the phone if it's something simple-anyone any ideas??

cheers

If it's branded to T-mobile, I believe you have to get it unbrand. Some of those settings (web, mms, ect...) are set into the phone to access Tmobile only, that's why they are grey out so you can't changed them. Flashed with generic firmware.

I'll bet money that you are connecting throught the WAP data account (i.e. APN set to wap.vodafone.co.uk)?

that will work for the internal browser but most other apps such as Opera etc need a full GPRS data account using the APN set to internet

@t5chav: You wrote, "it must be something to do with the old tmobile crap on the phone that i can't delete(i have got the vodafone settings as 'preferred' connection)." That I believe is where the problem is. You may have to get rid of the Tmobile "DNA" in the phone b4 you can use any Internet connections. Someone once brought his P900 to me with a similar issue. @masseur
i am sorry to be a thicko-but i don't understand,i can't see where i would change these settings,could you elaborate please,thanks.

@AYA
This is the feeling i get,a lot of posts on this forum are pointing towards that,guess i'll have to bite the bullit and get it debranded,talking of which-as i said earlier,i bought a terminator dongle,i have been told i can't debrand the p900 with this,is this correct?

Thanks folks

@t5chav: Not sure what you can or cannot do with the dongle. I'm otta my league there :) From Masseur's post, have you tried using the builtin browser, not Opera? Try browsing with that and letz see. This message was posted from a P800

It means all your incoming calls will be blocked and will be diverted.(if you have set a divert option.) You will have to put 'allow calls' on yes to get calls while the gprs connection is active. This message was posted from a K500

@t5chav: Thatz an indication that this app is set to bar calls during a GPRS session. If the builtin browser does not work too, as you say, the only way out like myself & someone else said earlier is to flash it with SE generic firmware to get rid of Tmobile :) This message was posted from a P800
