This is not a post saying not to use Davinci - on the contrary I think it's a good service! There are a few things to note about what happens when the firmware is flashed at Davinci though:

1) In some countries there is an icon in the main menu that says "PlayNow". It's a special service that provides the capability to buy mp3 songs in an easy way. In other countries this service is not available. If you have a native K700i from Sweden (for example) the firmware is packed with this service and the icon is present in the main menu (upper left icon of the 12 available ones). If you use Davinci to upgrade your firmware or to unbrand a branded K700i from Sweden (for example) then you will loose this service. The icon is not present after having flashed your firmware; instead there is an icon that says "Sony Ericsson" which is a shortcut to their main wap site. Note that this is the fact even if the firmware you're flashing to is made for Sweden (EU4).

2) Some people who have Vodafone branded phones actually like their firmware since it in some countries (like Sweden) has an extra option in the "New message" menu that says "Postcard". It creates a special MMS that sends a real paper postcard for a small fee. A good service indeed! If you for this reason want to keep your Vodafone branded firmware but don't want the camera sound when "C" is pressed, then you can have that using one credit/log by not flashing the firmware but only choosing "Flash finalization" option. I know a few people who have done this and it works. But - and this is important - when you thereafter choose to create a new message, the "Postcard" option is gone! The firmware stays branded with Vodafone and the camera sound is gone while having the "C" button pressed, but the "Postcard" function (which is the main reason to keep the firmware branded) is gone! If you want to remove the camera sound but keep your firmware "Vodafone live!"-branded with the neat postcard function, follow this guide instead (it worked for me but you do it at your own risk of course): http://www.esato.com/board/vi[....]ic=66330&start=420#post1087183

Are there any other things you might end up loosing upgrading the firm ware?
I'm a bit nervous, yet it would be realy nice to get rid of that camera sound. Are there different fw's for different countrys? (I'm in Sweden).
Can I install the fw via bt?

the thing that is bugging me about davinci is not the software.
bought an usb cable to them, payed them 41€ at 9 January for 1 cable and 2 logs.
the logs we're active in the same day but no cable at my mail box 'til now.
it could be a postage problem but... send them e-mails they don't answer, can't contact them either by ICQ...
i'm getting quite worried about the 23€ i paid for the cable...

It is not Setool and cannot do half the features Setool can
