Hello, I've noticed on my k700i that I can send little animations or sounds with a SMS, and if I undertand correctly, that is called "EMS" right?
I have a few questions:
1) If I send an animation to a t610 for instance, will the receiver be able to see the image or hear the sound exactly the same way it appears on my phone? Or he can only see it if he has the same on his phone?
2) Do you know if I get charged additional fees for sending an EMS, compared to a SMS?

Well, take the devil animation. The devil in the k700i is different to the devil in say, t230. When you send the devil, the devil will show up on the t230. The devil will not be the one like in your phone, but the one t230 has in its inbuilt lib. If you send the ems to a non compatible phone, just the texts show up. And no extra is charged for ems, same as text.

If a friend of mine doesn't have EMS on his phone, can he type some combination of text that will make the animations appear on my phone when he sends me a sms?

@turt: No; I don think so. As for billing, since one image or animation can take up the size of up to 2-5 regular SMS, you will be billed for multiple SMSes, ie one EMS sent may cost the tarriff for a concatenated SMS made up of as many SMSes.

I tried making a SMS with the 15 animations available on k700i, and I still can write up to 80 characters before having 0 characters left in message 1. Does it mean if I send it, it will only cost me ONE sms?

@turt - yes, you will be charged only one sms. btw samsung phones also support ems, so you can also send them EMS animations and sounds. Also i found out that you can send .imy tones which are small in size ( <50 kb i think) thru EMS

@turt: Check if your phone is set to automatically concatenate your SMS, in which case it allows you to insert maximum number of text/files without warning you. Or else you may end up with some charges :)
