@Rhino8

Some more information would be helpful. What are you using to download the file, a mobile phone or a PC? What file are you trying to download? Please provide as much information as possible.

The largest file i downloaded via gprs wap was 100kb. Some networks might have put a restriction on file size. (Like for Mophun) This message was posted from a K500

@Rhino8

In that case I would take note of govigov's advice and contact your network to find out if they have a restriction the size of file, which can be downloaded.

What happens when you try to download a file larger than 200 kb? Do you get an error message?

On k700, orange uk there is no size restriction that I've found. Downloads of in excess of 1mb are possible, albeit slow. I'm aware that some wap gateways having size restrictions, so if you can't ask your current network, then i guess you'd have to use a different wap gateway.

i can confirm that on the standard 2.5G network vodafone dont have any restrictions and the same is for the 3G network... each network will have to unlift these restrictions as 3G downloads can b in excess of 5 or 6Mb

Most these problems arise due to wap gateway limits but you can use proxy settings to bypass the gateway limit. In phones that support these settings(k5,k7,s7 etc) go to internet profiles...in the settings of your active internet profile select internet mode as http instead of wap...enable proxy n the port no is generally 8080 or 9401(hit n trial tho port add may be diff as well so contact your operator). After doin this my wap gateway limit has been removed from the previous 300kb...i dont have any limit now n i have downloaded 2mb file from phone+21mb file from pc usin phone as gprs modem very comfortably. The pxxx/s60 do the same usin opera,netfront etc web browsers.
