I've been reading threads on this stuff for days but I'm still unsure as to the best route to get a DVD onto the P910i in the nicest looking fashion.

I have DVD Decrypter, DVDx (2.? I think) and a demo of Smartmovie.

Is that a good combination to get the best results?

As I understand it, I use DVD Decrypter to get the DVD onto the PC in the form of VOB files etc. Then use DVDx to encode it into AVI, then Smartmovie Converter to get it into XVID and then watch it using Smartmoive Player on the phone...right?!

The DVD Decryp bit is fine. DVDx offers me a lot of options. Even after I'd selected the AVI (DivX, YUV...) option in the Output Settings I still get a choice of Codecs - which one to select?

What about the 1st and 2nd pass options?

Then a load of Expert Settings which I'm ignoring and then the sizing - what Resolution, Zoom & Resize setting work best?

Or is there another free app that does this better? I won't ask about the Smartmovie settings since there seems to be a lot of info in the search on this.

Thanks.

Have you tried This Tutorial which Chemos posted

You dont need the last two apps (CladBRC .NET 1.4 or DivX4 Bitrate Calculator by Spark)

And you can get the divx codec from DivxPro 5.2.1 (Free 6 Month Trial)

After following the above tutorial and you have the avi file have a read of Aiwarikiars Superb Mpegable Tutorial which will give you all the settings for a superb mp4 file

I usually use dvdx to rip at 352X288 then use above tutorial to resize

If you use Aiwarikars settings (he spent weeks testing every combination possible before he posted the tutorial to get the best settings) you will get a smooth playing video and it will play at fullscreen

I tried using 320X208 but at high video and audio bitrates the processer cant handle it so i used to use 296X192 but Aiwarikars work just as well as mine did

iv been using smartvideo on my p900

the thing is i have downloaded things like cashern trailer and some movies, hero etc, thanks to jc, thank you,,

but i have a few questions,

installing the smartvideo to the mobile compared to the stick plays the same which i have realised, thats out of the way.

now does the trailer of cashern run smoother on p910i than the p900,

i mean its got heavy quality in the video, but im just wondering about the smooth playback differences of p900 - p910

anyone can shine some lite for me, thanks

Now I'm a bit more confused. That last tutorial didn't seem to have much to do with AVI files.
