Sup all.
I'm in the UK, and have so far been using just a CD/mp3/WMA player to stream my entertainment to my starved ears. However, as days go by, I have more and more music.
Admittedly, there was once a time where 700mb would suffice for most of my music collection. However, now this time is over, and my CD/MP3 has mediocre archival methods that do not suffice in this day and age.
I thirst for a Hard Drive Mp3 Player. And I thirst for one cheap. I need at least 4Gb of space (i have about that in music now), preferably above 10GB. But I'll settle. I do say I want it cheap too.
Free Ipod websites. I am willing to put up with HUGE amounts of spam as long as I get the iPod in the end. But some of the "offers" must be free. The problem here is I have no american address, where there are plenty of these, but a UK address, where the "offers" cost money.
I am also willing to go second hand. And all non-ipod offers are also welcome, I just want to listen to my music for God's sake!
Can anyone help? Know someone with an old 5Gb iPod? or an old generation 10-15-20Gb ipod that they have since upgraded? I'd be willing to pay, but unfortunately i'm on a strict budget... Depending on the price I'd have to sell a few things on ebay. Or i'd swap my old CD Player etc.
Yes, I have looked on ebay, but I just can't seem to find anything that really suits me for an appropriate price.
Help? Please?

Yeah thanks, I have all my music ripped to itunes on my ibook laptop, but i'd prefer to sync it to WInAmp at home, but meh. I don't mind. As long as it works.
Anyone? Or any other suggestions?

Well, about 30-35 pounds, so i'd say 90-100 dollars Aus. All i want is something that can store music and replay it.

I just sold my 2nd generation 10gb iPod for £100... and looking on eBay they seem to be going for anything between £80-£130 (depending on who's bidding!), so realistically I think you're really gonna have to up your budget somewhat.
Ok, there are cheaper options than the iPod, but why bother? The iPods do seem to keep their second-hand value far more than lesser brands, which must say something...

I never owned a 3rd generation iPod, although I have friends who do. I now have a 4th generatation 40GB iPod photo.
Personally I prefer the 4th generation, with the buttons positioned at the 4 compass points within the scroll wheel.
Having had a 2nd generation iPod for just over 2 years I was very used to the position of the buttons on that. Again, around the edge of the scroll wheel. When I tried my friends 3rd generation iPod I didn't like the button positioning. I guess others didn't too as it didn't stay in the design long.
I also like the grey click wheel compared to the white scroll wheel.

Well, I knew I would have to up the budget a bit, but seriously, a generation 1 5Gb ipod should be what, 40 quid? If you have seen the 10Gb 2nd gen ones for 80-120 pounds, surely an older first generation 5Gb model (the REALLY chunky ones) would be around half that?
Oh well, I'd still settle for a non-ipod solution. Even 2-3Gb would be ok, I just need to store and play the music!
