Hi guys,

My HCH-37 just arrived this morning, however, after assembling it looks like it barely swivels at all, about 10 degrees each way which is crap for my car! not impressed.

Is there any way of getting them to be able to swivel about 90 degrees?

Maybe I've assembled it wrong

Neil

What car is it and how are you mounting the HCH-37?

Mine is mounted with a vehicle specific mount from www.dashmount.co.uk and mine is fine (looks very similar to the picture you posted), although I would agree that there isn't a huge amount of movement in the HCH-37 itself.

The key is more how the HCH-37 is mounted rather than the lack of adjustment with it however - the mount itself needs to be angled towards the driver.

I just got mine today but i don't get it, are you supposed to actually .screw the thing into the dash?
On the side 2 side movement - apart from using a different mounting, you could always rotate the bracket 90° and glue it 2 the holder as the up-down movement is better

Car is an E36 BMW Coupe, and I was trying to mount it on the passengers side of the centre console, looks like a dashmount adapter is what I need then.

@Aled - No the HCH-37 is designed to be attached to a mounting bracket and not directly to the dash itself.

@NeilC28 - Yep, you'll need the mount for your car. As I said earlier I got my mount (for a Golf IV) from the dashmount.co.uk people I mentioned above. Haven't seen anyone else who sells the mounts online, although I'm sure most car audio/alarm type install places should be able to source a mount for your car.

well, i ended up using that double-sided sticky foam tape stuff to stick it straight to the dash. Actually works really well.
