Hi
I just installed the PC Suite for the P900, and i tried to do a backup of my contacts on my PC, but my pc just won't see my phone. i get the arrow in the lower right system tray however the array dowes not go crooked when it detects a phone.
I downloaed the latest PC suit from SE ,i think it is version 3, even that prodcues the same result.
i did exactly the same as i did for my P800, but this time around i have no luck. please help me before my pone crashes and i lose all my contacts

I've had this on mine, usually it's when I've had bluetooth activated and then switched off.
This is my usual sequence when this happens.... Try it....
1) Remove phone from cradle
2) Switch off then on the phone
3) Double-click the connection icon in the tasktray and uncheck "USB", then check it again after about 5 secs
4) Place phone back in cradle, and see if it says "Connected" afterwards.

Have you tried going into my devices, finding the COM port that the sync stations connected to then the sync station settings and selecting the port that you know the sync station is connected to ?

i also got the mrouter problem a couple of times.
at the moment, when i right click on the icon, i get two options
Change Phone and Properties
Properties gives what i described before
and Change Phone gives
"To connect to a phone, select a phone from the list of Known phones below and click OK, Click Cancel to close the dialog without selecting a phone.
Known Phones:
{blank}
Unknown Phones:
{blank}
with four buttons at the bottom
OK, Cancel, Refresh, Help

how do i add a phone to this list?

start menu/control panel/ if control panel in classic view then select/system/ opens sytem properties and from there select device manager (soz not my devices ) scroll down to ports and it should show what com port sync is connected to.
Try that, if running an older version of windows then it should still be able to be found in the control panel.

communications port (COM1)
communications port (COM2)
Printer Port (LPT1)
the locations of al lthree is Intel(R) 82801EB LPC Interface Controller
i checked the properties and they all seem to be OK. i had connected my P900 cradle to the USB. i thought there would be a USB port for my computer which i should be looking at.
Isn't COM1 and COM2, RS232 or something like that?
