> V800 crackle & ITP R1e
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I'm getting an intermittent 'crackle' when dialling out as the phone makes a call, a sound which disappears when the call is answered. It doesn't happen every time, but is very annoying when it does. Is this a problem with the speaker (I've already had to send my first V800 back for powering off on it's own!) or am I just picking up interference from a bad area cell, do y'all think?
Also, my firmware is R1D003 and my ITP SW version is R1e. Looking back at previous posts, it seems that R1e is problematic for downloads. How bad are these problems, please? I really, really don't want to have to return a second phone...
Many thanks in advance!

@bigbamboo,
As for me, there is no problem. ( same firmware with you and itp as well. ) If u are really crazy on the download stuff, then u can change the phone. I have try using the 3G download in London and it has no problem to download songs and trailers..
Another questions u have said that the cracking sound.. If u put the headset on and u can hear a sound "crack" when u are dialing right? Is that u wana say? I know this seem very small bug.. but i also have that kinda sounds..
well, guess the phone is made from China, what u have to be expected?? Cheap man power, cheap product, therefore.... If u see S700i or P910i, they are not from China.. Therefore, maybe we can say is those phones that not made from china are much better... Cause in here many consumers which had V800 have complain about their phones crazy...
If u really wan to updates the latest, find the newest firmware and upgrade it.. no need ask vodafone to help cause all they do is change the phone...mostly..

Hi Babysmile,
Sorry - I wasn't clear. I'm not using a headset, just holding the phone up to my ear (just like we used to in the old days!) And the crackle is not on every call, just sometimes...
Pleased to hear you say that on the firmware, as some of the previous posts seemed to indicate that this was a major problem.
Generally, I like the phone.

Hi bamboo.
I have the same fiormware as all. No problems downloading here. In fact as far as I am aware the only real problem with that fiormware was that UK users (not all though) could not download vodafone content from vodafone's portal.
I've not experienced creaks or otherwise starnge sounds when making calls or receiving calls, I do use the phone 'to the head' frequently as well
I suspect something might be wrong with your speaker. Have you tried a headset yet? If you use a headset, do you experience the 'creaks' at all? If you don't you have a problem in the phone's hardware, if you do it's the connection.... may be related to the phone, or interference from other appliances, or network.... or probably a number of other things as well

@bigbamboo,
for me there is not a problem about tat. As mention with Vlam, my phone is ok with tat. I'm staying in UK currently and although my phone have little bugs( after i have notice when i got another V800 prepaid from vodafone on last week), but i'm still happy with it.. Maybe ur phone need to check it out and get another one.
The latest ITP from vodafone UK should be R1f .. ( that for Prepaid V800 Voda)
