Hi Folks!

does anyone have a SE V800? I can see it is marketed as aSE 800se in Japan.

I know the Japanese model has switchable language menu's JapaneseEnglish.

Does the V800 also have this ability?

I want to be able to read my Japanese mails and also reply to them in Japanese.

I think I cannot buy the 800se in Japan unless I buy a contract!

Thanks!

Ofiaich

I got mine from Vodafone UK and it doesn't have a Japanese language option.

Thanks for your reply, icey

That's a really pity... but I guess very few users would want that.

I will work on getting a 802se! But I am not sure if they are exactly the same phone...

vodafone jp only sell phone to jp citizen, so you cannot get the V802 there unless you get a jp i.d.

I think it is the same phone with different software. they called it differently because of the naming system they used in Japan. they have 602 702 802 902... and its all from different manufacturers... so they have SH for sharp, SE for Sony Ericsson... and they all use 2 at end so I guess that was why V800 became 802SE there.. And yes, the japanese version work outside japan.

For V802:
Also has sim locked
no mp3 ringtone (same as V800)
also, cannot play mp3 (some kind of copyright restriction)
Other features are same as V800

Hi! I see you are in Tokyo! Do you know if I can buy a handset alone in Akihabrara?

I am sure you know I can buy handsets in England but obviously, quite pricey!

I will be there in summer and go to Japan frequently!
