I have a sony ericsson K700i on vodafone....it is seriously vodafone branded, so much so that when I got online to the sony ericsson site to update it, it informs me that vodafone dissaprove of me using this service and it stops.
my girlfriend has a k700i that works with any network. i can trim an mp3 run it through drm packager and create my owm mp3 ringtones for here phone no problems at all....
Can some please tell me how to get rid of vodafone branding and install fresh firmware just like the one on my girlfriends phone.
I have a dss-25 sync station, is there anyway i can do it myself ?
Please help me

You can de brand the phone using davinci server, or totalmultiserver or setool.net. search for these.

Does the unlock cable do the same function as the dss25?
my friend bought an unlock cable to flash a vodafone k700, and i have an unbranded one id like to update...

No. But i guess there is a thread that says you can use dss25 with davinci.
