I might be getting a IPAQ 3870 soon and I was wondering if there are any major problems with this and the t68.
I’ve got a t68m (upgraded) and I’m hoping to use the Bluetooth connection with the iPaq for e-mail on the move and similar stuff.

So has anyone else here got this set up and has it worked out OK.
Let me know ASAP as I need to get the iPaq soon.
Cheers.

(I know this kinda belongs in technical but I want a speedy response).

I'm posting this with your intended combination ...3870 with the upgraded t68m(i)... Go for it... no problems without a solution encountered .

hi there, my brother and several of his friends are using ipaq 3870 and t68i, they are always saying how the device works well together. eg, my brother is sending & receiving sms via bluetooth on his ipaq, very convenience indeed, no more pressing one button at a time from the phone. i am using the palm m505, without the bluetooth card, and have no intention of getting the it. but i might consider switching to ipaq as well... hehee

cheers

I use H3870 with T68i,..works great. Use bluetooth, IR,..and all works fine

---------

By the Way : H3970 will NOT work any faster than 3870.

Reason is : the pocket pc/WinCE is not built for this 400Mhz processor.
It simply does not have the resources,..and Microsoft do not want to build a new version of pocket pc right away...they got enough different windows-versions already !

Its actually a "communication-problem" between Intel and the pocket pc-team,..hehe,..they sort of "forgot" to speak to one another

Intel could do a 1Ghz processor,..but it wouldnt help much, since the pocket pc is not optimized for this...yet.

I tried the LOOX a while ago,..and its not any faster either

So the reason that you would buy the H3970 or LOOX, would be more ROM-space and a different screen. Not because of the processor.

Sad news,..but true !

I think the 3870 would be more compatible with current software than the 3970, but I'm getting the 3970 once it comes out just because it's faster!!! hehe

Ehrm,..3970 is not faster than 3870.

Theres no difference in speed on these two

Unfortunately pocket pc 2002 isnt optimized for the 400Mhz processor.

We would have to wait for a newer version of pocket pc, before the 400mhz processor really gets fast.

I also tried the LOOX with 400mhz,..and theres no change in speed either.

Yes, I read your post, and I agree about waiting for a newer pocket PC

I know some software will not work with the 3970 because of this, but I'm still for this PDA because eventually we should see some improvement, not to mention the bright screen.
