Alpine/pioneer player with pioneer speakers(original, lots of duplicates around.) and blaupunkt(the bass tube is cool) sub. Go for kenwood amp. (At least i like it that way.) Feel of music is personal preference. So it differs a lot. The way the bass hits you cant be explained.

sony explode are over rated
id go with an alpine or clarion head unit and equalisers etc.
clarion split sytem
kicker or clarion amps (mono block

)
fusion or clarion or MTX subs
and a fusion powertube for 14.4volts constant power, combine that with 2 1000watt clarion monoblock amps and 2 ohm 3000 watt competition subs, youve got yourself a hearing aid.

sony xplod amps are pretty cheap i hear.
especially the 222 series. i don't know much.. but this is what i've heard.
as for the unit.. i'd suggest pioneer. i've got a pioneer cd player in my car, and it's been pretty reliable.
jbl/harmon kardon speakers are good too. maybe u can read up on this in some magazine or somethin.

X-plod subs are quite good, but the speakers are tinny and distort heavily at anything even approaching loud volume...amps are average. Head units arent bad, but theres a lot better around for the same money. Steer clear of the speakers!
