Howdy,
I have a k700i, R2AA003 unbranded (as from new).
Everything is OK, but I have a problem with
speed dialing.
When I assign a number to a key, it is accepted. But
when I use the key to speeddial the number the
phone just jumps to a random entry in the phonebook
bit does not dial.
Is this a known problem with this f/ware version?

I was just wondering. How do you use the speed dial. Do you hold the number down and then it jumps to a phone number? Or do you press, say, 2, then 'call'?

You enter the phonebook (down joystick) then
select options, speed dial. You can then set the
number to be dialed when you hold down, say, the
"2" key.
So, when I use the speed dial, I just hold down the
"2" key, which should automajically dial the number
I have assigned it.
However, the phone just jumps to a random entry
in the phonebook but does not dial.

In the t series, its usually the sim card number list that corresponds to the speed dial. So change the position list of number you want to dial in sim card to that one.

Ok. Went checked. You need to press the number once and then call. Long press will take you starting alphabet of the number. There is a dedicated speed dial option in k series.
