VLC meda player is great! it can play all videos, and unfinished videos that are being downloaded. see it here
http://www.videolan.org/ It is a open source code and there have guys made a version for PDA!
I am going to contact the developers and request version for Sony Ericsson P-series. Or if they donīt want it then maby I can contact some of my friends that are good to develop p800 applications.
This means playing .mpg .avi .wmv etc. on your Pxxx
How would you like that??
I am going to link to this topic so they can see how many are interested in it!

I use VLC on my Mac. It invariably plays the content that Quicktime does not, meaning that I don't download a 2000MB movie and then find it useless.
For this reason, I would be very interested in a UIQ version, but do the P-series have enough horsepower to play nice quality video? I mean, the margin on encoding now would suggest not. Raise the bit-rate a bit too far and the frame-rate is bollocks. Put it too low, and all you get is a pixelated mess.
However, I do have faith in the wonderful souls at VLC, and for that reason I would like to add my support for a UIQ version. Hell, if no-one else makes one, I might even give it a go

Well, on a p910i it would be better than on a p800 and 900, becaouse of bigger RAM. Playing .avi movies would be a bit worse than on Smartmovie (It would be diffrence for what programs are used to encode)
But I play .mpg on my camera, which is not maked to watch movies or something, but it plays good, I dont think my camera has any RAM, but pxxx has and have video players, so I think it sould be possible with lot of free inner memory.
It has already been maked for PDA, donīt most PDA has as much memory as a p900???
Well I havenīt seen VLC in action on a PDA but I was told is was just fine...

Yeah, fair play, but if the PDA in question was a PocketPC (which is likely, as the APIs aren't too far removed from native windows-32 bit ones, meaning it'd be an easy port), then just remember that the processors in these are routinely around 600MHZ nowadays, and this is a lot compared to the paltry 150MHZ or so that the P-Series has.
