I cant for life of me find in the search results what I'm looking for, though I'm sure I've read something about this before...

I'm looking to change the icons of some of the main applications on a P910i (Orange branded) (e.g. Camera, Phone, Messages etc). I think it has something to do with a .aif file in the system folder and a .mbh file or something like that. Does anyone kno for sure? And, if so, do u kno how to copy them from an unbranded P910i?
OR... is it all in flash memory so u cant do anything about any of it (without a reflash of course)?!

Cheers!

well this was something looked at by pimp and some one else but they never released it because tracker 3 came out with customisble icons. It can be done yourself but its nightmare. Just stick with what you've got unless your willing to use tracker.

Does Tracker allow you to change the actual main icons or is it just its own icons it can change?

Ta.

just the ones in desk view but trust me set it up right you will never need to look at the basic app screen.

I see what ur saying but, personally, I'd rather use the standard OS features - rather than relying on a piece of software. I've also bought magic launcher which I like as it gives you easy access to things in such a simple way (PPC stylie) BUT i don't like those sh*te Orange icons!

There must be a way of changing the files so the icons can change.
The files are .aif and .mbm i think but I dunno where theyre located.

a while back I found two .SIS files that will replace your standard icons with Linux or XP icons. I haven't tried them myself because I heard that the XP set isn't compatible with P910. I haven't heard anything about the Linux set, but I am wary of trying it.

I would be happy to send you the .SIS files though if you are interesting in giving it a try.

Yes Please! Thank you very much.
What icons specifically does it replace - all the main ones? Doesn't matter anyway - I'll give it a try.

Please email them to lloydcody -AT- gmail -DOT- com (replace - and no spaces etc)

Cheers!

files sent. I must say that I hope it works for you and please let me know how it turns out, because I want to do this myself, but don't have the courage yet.
