Well i bought the R600 for a couple of day's ago. And it is just a great phone. I love it. But the only bad thing is that the battery last for 48 heures. That can't be right. I recharget it fr 8 heures as a the dealer told me and then i took the time how long the battery will last. And it took a little more than 48 heures. That can't be right.
Maybee i have done something with the menus or something what can cost a lot of energy from the battery? I do not know. Can you please help me?
Or does the battery just last longer and longer for each time i recharge it?

Initial charge of 8 hours is NOT enough at all mate. You have got to atleast leave it on the charger for consecutive 16 or so hours to wake up the battery completely. The phone might display as the battery being full but still leave it on the charger. Then you'll notice the difference on the life-time of the battery lasting from one charge.

Nahhh... Initial charging is just pure BS.
R600 is cursed with a short battery life. I really wonder why. It's got a 700mAh battery, higher capacity than the T39's but the T39 just keeps on going and going...
When you press the side button how much talk/standby time does it say?
Have you tried disabling the backlight. Maybe the fancy multicolor LEDs are sucking up all the battery juice? I dunno...

When i pressthe side buttons it does just saythe date and the profile nothing else. That's soo strange. I tought it's barrery life was LONG as they shuld be. I have no fansy colour onlythe normal green.
i have it on the save mopde if that tell's you anything. It's very dissepointing.. I can't figure it out at all. Now it has lasted hmmm for 2.5 day's so maybeeit jst last a bit longer for each time i recharge it. LOL
Well il post up all the stuff later.. I mean what i have done to my phone so maybee somone can help me to change it so it hopefullu uses a bit less batery. im a active talker but still it shuld last more than 2 day's don't you think..
Regards Steven!

Well, I guess that the R600 LED background is eating a lot of battery power compared to the background that T39 and the other newer Ericsson phones uses (except T66). The background light in the T39 is some kind of florescent material which lights up, and uses a lot less power.
I don't know if the R600 actually has the battery predection (standby/talktime) that most of Ericssons newer phones have. I think they might have taken that away to reduce the cost. They did that with the T20.

Well i have not recharget it today but i might today im just calling around to make the battery wear out. Man it say's that is shuld be a standby time within minimum 90 heures or something. But when it last in 3 day's then it's only 72.. That's very bad...
Ok in the setting i have on sounds and alerts i have the ring volu on 6/6.
Increase ring, off
Vibrating alert, on
Ring signals, data call's melody 7 and the same for the other one except the personal rings.
Alarm signals, melody 1
Message alert, tone
Key sounds, silent
Minute minder, off
Display,
Light, Automatic
Display sleep, on
Text size, medium
Contrast, 5/6
Screen saver, off
And then the usual stuff like outomative key lock. And so on. I did not list up all the stuff but the things that can take a lot of the battery.
Well does anyone know if i can buy a battery that lasts longer if that could be possible.?? I really want it to last at least 3-4 day's if you know what i mean.

I charged my new R600 for 4 hours as the book says. How long did the battery last? 1,5 days! I charged it for 8 hours but I donīt know yet how long it will last this time (this is the second day). I have automatic light, background picture, no vibrator and no screensaver.

Is this like a RIM blackberry, more of an sms machine than a telephone? IS this available to work in North America? USA?

Within the first week to 3 weeks of having a new phone (especially with the newer batterys) it takes a good few charges and run downs till all the cells in the battery get off their arses and start to fully work to their upmost potential. I would wait about 2 weeks untill you worry if it has anything wrong with it
