> K700i Photo Messaging Settings for Orange UK?
Bookmark topic
Now before I get the usual posts, yes I have searched and I still don't have the answer.
I have an Orange K700i which I have unlocked and unbranded to use the standard Sony software.
However, after doing that I am unable to receive photo messages, I have tried copying the settings from someone else I know with an Orange K700i but it just doesn't seem to work (comes up with a commincation error message).
I have also tried calling Orange on 156 and they sent me the settings but they said not compatible when I tried to use them (as I have changed the firmware - DOH!)
Does anyone know what I need to input and where to get photo messaging back up and running?
At the moment my settings are...
Under Connectivity >> Data Comms >> Data Accounts I have Orange MMS. The settings for this are...
APN: orangemms
User:
Pass:
Pass request: off
allow calls: automatic
IP Address: ...
DNS Address: ...
Authentication: normal
Data compression: off
Header Comp.: off
Under Connectivity >> Internet Settings >> Internet profiles, I have Orange GPRS selected.
The settings for Orange GPRS are...
Connect using: Orange gprs wap
Internet mode: http
Use proxy: yes
IP Address: 192.168.071.035
Port: 8080
User:
Password:
Anyone know what I have wrong or what else I need to change check?
Thanks in advance - Ben

Yes, I actually fixed it by deleting all my network and data comms settings and then sending the MMS settings for Orange from the Sony site. Think I used the P800 settings (even though I have a K700i!)

Yeah, best thing to do is to get them sent from Sony Ericsson, HOWEVER, this is a problem with their settings. They have connectivity > internet settings > internet profiles > highlight Orange GPRS WAP > press more > settings > internet mode
Now, SE settings have internet mode set to WAP, this sucks as it limits your downloads you can get over GPRS WAP. Like on Orange world you couldn't download video's over 250k due to limitations of WAP 1.0, or something along those lines. So, to fix that, do the following.
Change internet mode to http
Proxy to yes
IP address to 192.168.071.035
port 8080
those are the orange settings.
