Yes.

It will charge your SE thru a notebook.

i think its useful if you don't want to haul your power cord and have access to computers while you are traveling. I wouldn't use it all the time, only in a pinch. I don't own one, because I don't have a computer I can take with me, so at my desk my CDS-11 charge stand is better.

Looks kind of flimsy and frail. I would be afraid of just breaking the cord.

I have a USB charger from Dectel or something like that, it is just a regular cable but shorter and with a USB connector instead of a transformer.

I would prefer this simple cord I have above this because of reliability. Even when traveling, this plain cable does not take weight or space of any significance.

This UUSB charger cable is not only useful when traeling or with use of a notebook. I have it plugged in on my desktop computer, it is just more handy and cheaper than a regular charger and it dos not take a power plug which I don't have left under my desk and is hard to reach.

Very handy, the usb charger.

I bought this 3 in 1 Charger...

Not as portable, but probably stronger, cheaper and can be used from the car and mains also. Works great.

Not just a notebook, any USB PC would do the job.

I've got a solar powered charger (which I got as an introductory gift for subscribing to Stuff magazine). It's got it's own internal battery, so that you can charge it up by day and charge your device(s) at night.

The output is USB, so it came with a bunch of adaptors for various different phones. These adaptors can therefore also be used to charge from PC USB ports.

If anyone's interested, I'll take a look tonight and let you know the manufacturer. It's in storage at the moment, waiting for the summer and my next camping trip. I think they cost about £40.

Question though: does anyone know if these sort of things pose any risk to phones' battery life? Or is the P9xx clever enough to make sure it's not being damaged by too big/small a voltage/current?

You can solder a link inside the dss to draw power from the usb port,
So when your phone is in the cradel without the charger plugged in,
it will charge.

Hope it helps.
