> K700 driver for Windows 98
Bookmark topic
Hi.
I got my precious k700 but my old PC is working on Windows98 SE and I can't install the driver from the CD.
How can I install the driver on Windows 98?
Please help me!
Thx!

Get a Mac. Works line a dream. If this is not possible, you will need to upgrade to either Windoze 2000 or Windoze XP. Windoze 98 is simply too old. Microsoft does not even support it anymore.

I want to use IRDA connection between k700 and PC.

I know Win98 is old but I don't have newer one...
Neither I don't want Win2000 or XP because they are too heavy for my old PC.
I heard USB cable connection can work even on Win98.
Is it true?

Hello Bianco,
I do not think that it there are drivers for 98, this is the problem. I am not sure. One thing you can check is: on the CD that came with the k700i, look at the list of requirements. If it says 98 then it "should" work. If you only see Win 2000 and Win XP then, I think you are out of luck.

Win98 and K700i work perfectly. u haev to download the IrDa modem script at

official web site in order to let win98 IrDa detect ya K700 modem.
i and happier to use Win98 as bluetooth or IrDa connection than the stupid windows XP sp2. no doubt Windows Xp support more drivers. but it's crab compare with Win98. Win98 still rules!

@fu1at
Do you mean Modem Scripts for K700(Modem_scripts_K700.zip) from SE website? They say this script is for system Windows 2000; Windows ME; Windows XP. Does it work for Win98 too? I installed the script for WinME(SemK700_IrDA_ME.inf) but it can't connect my K700 to Win98 by IRDA...
How did u succeed?

No dude, the modem script is something else entirely. You need modem drivers.

Sorry about the bad advice. I no longer use Windoze, so I was not sure, but good luck if you can find the drivers. If you get the chance, buy a Mac.
