> k500i - Virgin network problems

I recently bought this phone on the orange network. I was a bit cheesed off by the tarrifs on the PAYG option, so decided to buy a Virgin SIM. I previously used virgin (3p texts to other virgin phones!!), and have not had any problems before.
Now, when I'm texting, my outgoing texts are getting sent right away, but incoming ones are taking AT LEAST a day to come through
I have contacted Virgin who say that "texts can take up to 3 days to come through Sir" !?!?!?!?
Anyway, they tried to reset the network & now, some texts come through when I switch off/on, but this is a major pain in the derrier! I was wondering if anyone had the same problem, or any answers. I have been told by a reliable source that this might be because Virgin donthave their own transmitters & piggy-back ) 02 & Orange's ones??
Can anyone help?

I believe virgin is a kind of sideways, version of T-mobile i.e. uses the T-mobile network.
Maybe i is something to do with your message centre number? I will try and find some for you to try.

The phone was actually orange branded..still is. I only bought a virgin SIM to put in it. I have registered my Orange SIM now & am going to try that out, purely to see if it makes any difference. If that still doesn't work, obviously it may well be a problem with the phone.
I didn't really want to stay on the orange network as texts cost 12p & 40p for photo texts! If I could get the Virgin SIM thing to work I would be delighted, as most of the people I call are on virgin...strange thing is that they dont have any problem with their phones.
A mate of mine at work who is into all this stuff said that he watched "Watchdog" on BBC last night, and they were saying basically that if you had the k700i on the o2 network....your screwed!!!
I just hope that the same does not apply my wee phone!

my wife has a k500i and has to do a master reset before txt messages come through plus the phone froze and sent repeated messages, i think it has a problem with the firmware ,she is on the o2 network ,she has recently taken phone back to o2 shop where this was the explanation given for the problem she has only had the phone two months.

gazwoki - if your wife still has the phone, tell her to buy another sim card (is it payg?). It will save loads of hassle.
I changed my sim back to the Orange and it's working perfectly. o2 & the k500 & k700's seem to be incompatible. There was a programme on BBC about this & it is o2 that's the problem...NOT the phone.
I had a virgin SIM, which uses the o2 network to 'piggy back', and it was crap. As I said, changing back to orange solved the problem.
