I think there Maxis, Time and Digi is the only providers offering gprs. Correct me if I am wrong. Timecel time-based charges of 5sen/min seems worth while but can anyone comment on their coverage and speed? Maxis is most expensive (4sen/Kb) while Digi prepaid (promo 1sen/Kb) can use gprs too. With Time, one hour online =RM3. Not bad!! That's what most ppl pay an hour at cybercafes. Any comments?

Well, 4c/kb is a bit on the steep side and so far i can say that the speed is around the same if i surf text based sites but its much faster when you download pics. Im currently studying in nilai and the service here SUCKS! Even when the service is full gprs cant be accessed! sigh! Furthermore maxis places a 3kb limit on downloading files on wap. So IMHO you should let GPRS gain a stable footing here first before jumping on the bandwagon

WAP over GPRS is a waste of time. I will see what Internet over GPRS will do. Imagine ICQ 'Uh-oh' at a mamak stall! heheh

i think the only prepaid phone which offer Wap service in M'sia is Digi if i'm not wrong.. Hotlink does not provide such service.. i think they should provide since all the stuff are currently on the Wap service..
Does anybody knows which site there is that could send background picture or ring tones to your phone??? For a T65? I'm using T65.. and i do not have a Wap service.. so i could not download the pictures and stuff.. can someone kindly tell me what to do..
thanx..

Hi Guys,
I'm a DiGi subscriber and using T68i. I can say that DiGi did a great job for the GPRS. I'm not only doing GPRS on WAP in my phone but also GPRS Internet on my Ipaq Pocket PC and have no problem in accessing it. As for the price, I'll say it is cheap right now as it is promo rates till 30th August 2002. I'm using post paid and have no issue. I could connect to my office anytime to retrieve my mail and scheduling my calender with my staff. Well, at least it save my time and money calling back office to talk to the related staff. Yes, it does save me money as GPRS is cheaper than making a call (if it takes too long to be on hold).

I'm already receiving the 'uh-oh's on the move using CSD (I'm not sure how to configure GPRS internet connection yet!
@metalflux
Here are the settings for maxis GPRS but you must call 123 to activate your account first.
I had to do it even though Im a mstyle3 user.
APN: net
ID: maxis
Password: wap
IP Address: 202.75.133.49
Full settings
Click Here and choose your phone model from the drop-down menu below.
@alex
What happens to the rates after August 30?

Me not sure. Maybe a slight increase. As long as there is speed and not congested, I'll consider it as reasonable. Previously I was using the data/fax features to dial up to my pop3 account and it is costly as the price is similar to the call charges.

Yipee!!!
Downloaded my 1st theme via gprs!!!
Use halebop's gateway instead of maxis'
means instead of entering 202.75.133.49 enter 194.237.106.73
