At the prompt, dial your International destination number - followed by # only (do NOT press 'call' after your destination number).

Also, I'm on the O2 LeisureTime plus contract on which 0845, 0844 and 0870 numbers are included within my inclusive minutes, so I can call internationally using any of the discount phone providers who use an 0845, 0844 or 0870 access number, such as:

www.telesavers.co.uk
www.telestunt.co.uk
www.telediscount.co.uk
www.ratebuster.co.uk
www.cheapestcalls.co.uk

I think O2 are unique among providers to include 0845, 0844 and 0870 in the inclusive minutes. Check the terms of your contract, or call and ask your network.

It says "Calls made in the UK to UK standard fixed-lines, voicemail menu access and retrieval, fax, and calls to free phone, local rate and national rate numbers (0845 and 0870).

I don't really fancy the idea of inadvertantly landing a CUSTOMER with a big lump on HIS bill.

And the times quoted are these at destination or origin of the call ?

It's for calling international LANDLINES so unless the person you are calling has to pay for incoming calls on his landline you needn't worry!

I think its for all O2 Contract customers. They make no differentation in the Terms & Conditions on the web-site, but it may be worth a call to check for your particular tariff...

I think it works as follows- normally when one mobile network calls another, the network has to pay the other a fee. A clever guy went to one of the mobile companies and made them a deal. - I will provide you with extra income from other networks calling this number of yours and in return I want a cut of the profit and the call to be connected to a number of a cheap international telecoms provider who will give me very discounted rates as I am giving him a lot of extra business.
