Hello - ive just about trwaled this site and i think ive ended up confusing myself

Please can someone help me

I've decided to send my phone to ACR logistics at the recomenation of SE and Orange

I bought a dss-25 and i cant update the firmware online - ACR say that they will put the latest software on it for me - however does this mean that it will be unlocked ?

will it be debranded ?

will i be able to use the SE service from then on ?

Or will it just be the same but with new software

With it being ornage will it even accept the new software ?

Soooooo many questions .....steves getting confused

Thanks in advance

Steve

Steve

If it's any consolation:

My fiance had an Orange branded K700i. With the help of this forum and it's overly kind members, she now has an unbranded K700i, with the latest firmware.

Using the DaVinci server, I first unlocked the handset (because she also has an O2 sim) and then flashed the firmware.

Those two steps have completely de-oranged the phone. And yes, although I didn't carry on to the final stages, the phone was indeed accepted by the SE online update as a viable phone.

But, I am unsure how your service centre will operate, so it can't be said for definate.

If you use the SE repair centre they will not unlock your phone or de-brand it. All they will do is install the latest Orange branded firmware.

@toadgreengolf

use setool instead of davinci. It is widely acknowledged as the best solution for the new semc phones. You will need a T28 cable, yes.

first off, hello all.

@gbrooks3

After using SETools to debrand the phone, will it function with SE online update as after using DaVinci?
Or will one have to buy further credits to upgrade to future firmware releases?

Hello,

The update service relies on the phones CDA number for that phone. When it is flashed with one of the servers, the CDA number will change, and so will not be compatible with the SEUS or you may get a different language. However Setool can change the CDA number to whatever you want and so all will be fine with SEUS. I dont think Davinci has this option.

@gbrooks3, that's so out of line it's not even funny. toadgreengolf needs to reflash his phone and has stated that he has a DSS-25. Why would you possibly tell him to use setool instead of DaVinci when setool can't flash over a DSS-25 and DaVinci can? Seriously. I know you're a reseller, but suggesting he buy a T28 cable when he has a DSS-25 is ridiculous.
