RF Has been around for ages, if it is that good i cannot undertand why i still have wires on my portable mini disc player! I would love to get rid of them! RF or BLUETOOTH wood suely be good enough! I cant wait for the day a wirless porbale minidisc player hits the market!

RF is cheaper but it requires bigger parts but has more power, it can't handle as much data as bluetooth but for a pad it'll do fine. RF is old compared to bluetooth, bluetooth chips cost more to make and patends need to be paid making it more costlier.

Oh by the way RF headphones do exist the problem is the parts that send the signal are too big for a personal stereo.
