Hi all

My girlfriend has got a samsung E700 and when I try and transfer tones and pix to it from my k700i it gets halfway (at most) then fails.

Is there a reason for this?

Also although the samsung E700 has an infra red port she can't send stuff thru it it only gives her the option to send via mms. Can this be sorted?

Cheers

Most samsungs don't have IR OBEX, so this won't be possible.

Cheers guys, so is it a definite that I can't transfer files between our phones and there is no way to unlock the ir on the samsung???

Is the ir problem just with the e700 or is it the same in later samsung phones like the d500?

DAMN YOU SAMSUNG!!

My girlfriend has an E800 and I too found out you can only transfer contacts between my K700 and her E800 via IR.

I wanted to send a bunch of nice Caller ID pictures to her phone that I had created on my Mac. However, after emailing Samsung it appears that Caller ID photos can only be assigned from those taken with the in-built camera. Even if you send photos to the phone by data cable or MMS, they can't be set as Caller ID photos. What a pain!

The d500 has a fully functional irda to the best of my knowledge. Samsung have moved away from wat they generally do with this phone i.e. given it bluetooth, proper irda and most importantly decent java.
