Hi,
just a short question.
How many levels does Lemmings have as mines just in a loop at level 31, is this normal.

there are 31 levels per difficulty level. you can change the difficulty level in the main menu.
as for it staring at level 1 every time you start the game. i dont have this problem - it always starts from where i leave it. but it does give you a different password for each level, again you can type these in on the main menu ("new level")
all the passwords are easily found on the net - you will need them anyway because there are 2 levels (that i know of) that are impossible in the p900 version. (mayhem level 3 "hero time" and tricky level 25 "cascade") both have vital parts of the level missing.

the basic goal of the game is to get you 'lemmings' from the entry point of the map to the door with the torches around it
as for how you get them there , you have several tools at the bottom.
like build ramp , dig down , parachute (umbrella)
im not sure in which order they come, but you can see how many of each item u have left by the number above em , if it is blank , you have none.
to use a tool , click on it , then click on the lemming you want to apply it to
... just test your way to what icon is what...
