Most popular mobile phones are relatively flat and rectangular in shape, which conveniently fits into a shirt pocket or a small handbag.

Problem is that the generalized shape makes the mobile phone inconspicuous when placed flat on a restaurant table or office desk. Often resulting in it being left behind or accidentally lost when leaving in a hurry.

This design for a mobile phone contains an egg-shaped outer casing that is equipped with a star-shaped weight at its wide base.

When placed on a flat surface, the weight ensures that the mobile phone remains upright in a vertical position, making it clearly visible and easy to take hold of when leaving in a hurry. Another advantage of a self-righting mobile phone is that its liquid crystal display is visible at all times.

I don't off that. My T230 has a flat base and can stand upright. I think all the T series phones have flat bases. This message was posted from a T230

I usually wear jeans, though i may be mistaken, but that would stick out, wouldn't it, how would you put it in your shirt pocket? If you're a lady, how would you carry it inside your coat without.....er......looking uneven just get my drift.

Because this just a descriptive diagram of the concept (not actual phone)..I believe the pen thing or pointed side is may just be the axis onto which the phone is weighted at the bottom making it stand upright...But it could easily also be the attenna.

Lcd screens would be really awkward to view at 90 degrees while sitting at a table. Unless it's was just beyond arms length or the table was right under your chin :-D This message was posted from a Z600
