Sorry, dont know where to post so try and do this here ...
Newbie Alert!
I just got back my P800 from the SE Repair Center after they had this for 1 month. In fact, this was a RMA for a repair it went in for prior to this as well. So I have been out of my p800 for almost 2 months. I got this back today with a note that said that this is un-repairable for economic repair. Anyone ever had this ever happen to them? This is weird and I am frustrated as to what to do next. Any advice on how to proceed? or plain and simple, am I out of a phone that expired on warranty one month after it broke? Would appreciate advice!

Yes a simiar thing happened to me. My p800 came back from a major mobile phone retailers' repair centre after 2 weeks, and the virtual flip had dissappered after they said the phone was fully repaired. The original problem was that the phone kept randomly re-formatting itself and i lost a lot of pictures messages and contacts which takes a lot of time and hassle to get back. I went mad at them, i demanded a new phone. Since they knew i wasnt going to budge the store manager said they would go "completely against company policy" and issue me with a p900, it was the best i could do so i accepted. I'm still a bit annoyed i didnt get a new p800 (I prefer the look of it!) because i deserve it since i have been paying insurance on it for over a year and have never made any claims on it (some insurance policies, like mine extend the warranty btw). Then again the p900 is the more capable phone out of the 2 i guess.

Ahh. I see. Thanks for your two bits on this one. Unfortunately, this one went to the actual SE Repair Center and just hearing cookie cutter answers from them right now. The best they can do is reimburse me for the original repair job which was like 200 bucks. So at this point, thinking of moving on to a Blackberry or something?!?

noooooo dont get a crackberry its rubbish. Stick with SE, I know the p800 has its problems (it was the fist phone of its kind if im not mistaken) but SE do make the highest quality phones hands down. Though I do think the V3 Motorolla is pretty stylish, so is Samsung's D500, those r the only non SE phones I would consider.

Yeah economically un-repairable sucks, it mean (they say) that it would cost more for them to repair than the cost of the repair, which is basically bullshit. The best you could do it get some bloke somewhere to repair it that has nothing to do with SE....
SE have a set price for every repair out of warranty, it doesn't matter what it is it's always the same price... if they feel they're not getting enough for it, it becomes economically un-repairable...

Sometimes it is unfeasable to repair phones...if it's out of warranty, then u might wanna consdier selling it for parts if any1 service would accept it. Then get a new one.That's why i never buy 2nd hand phones nor refurbished ones.I get warranty and claim it if something like this happens.

hi. at voda if a phone comes back BER (beyond economical repair) it is down to one of three reasons.
Either...
1) Phone has come into contact with water (could b condensation as well as solid water)
2) Cost to repair exceeds cost of handset
3) The phone has suffered physical damage at some point in its life (even if it didnt contribute to the phones problem they wont repair it as it has sustained the damage at some point which could of led to the problem).
hope this clears some of the questions.

Just a quick Mahalo for everyones help. Guess the general feeling has been, screwed. This phone was RMA for a repair it went in for. No water, no physical damage no nothing. Just a good clean phone that didnt boot up one day and when I called SE Customer Service, was told to send it back in. Oh well. good excuse to go pick up the p910!
