Hello!
I know this topic has been done over a few times ( ive probably read all the posts on it )

but i just wanted to ask 1 final time with a more direct question =)

could all those who THEMSELVES have tried a scratch removing product like displex (or any other product) tell me if it worked and its good or whatever..., or why i should not use it.
and could you clearly state in your post that you yourself have tried it and are not basing any negative comments towards products on what you belive is so.

Thanks
P.S. I have a screen protector on my phone and it masks most of the scratches but they are still noticable, so i want to remove the scratches ( i bought mine second hand) and then get a new screen protector again.
none of the scratches are deep...

Any liquid scratch remover or polisher can only remove light scratches.
Plus it requires you to rub the affected area vigorously. All that pressure is required to effectively remove the scratch. The deeper the scratch the more pressure and rubbing should be done to remove or at least reduce the depth.

I wouldn't do that on a touch sensitive screen. I'd rather have the front assembly replaced.

but would it (like some previous posters in different discussions have claimed) damadge the plastic film, something about disssolving it, because the chemicals in the scratch removers would dissolve the plastic. Causs i have no problem with sitting for 30-40 minutes (or longer) rubbing the screen 'gently'(no deep scratches on mine, just light things made by stylus pen) if it will remove the scratches...
Thats why im wondering if anyones done this, and noticed a decrease in sensitivity on the screen.

oh and.. anyone know of any plastic film for the screen whitch is specific for the p900( right size, using a Palm one right now and cutting it into shape.. but its very foggy so it sux neways)

Yes, there are screen protectors specifically for the P900/P910. Brando and Martin Fields makes great screen protectors.

I have yet to encounter a liquid scratch remover that could melt plastic. Why don't you test the product on a piece of plastic sheet. The thinner the better. If it melts or wrinkles the sheet, then it is safe to assume that it may damage your P900 screen.

Left long enough displex does melt the plastic of the case if you don't get it off. It removes paint unchecked too. Found that out the hard way stupidly thinking it would remove a scratch from a K700.

It didn't. Completely buggered the screen so I left it in a huff, three hours later it had eaten into the surround and paint where I'd been a bit panic-stations trying to get these enormous marks off that were appearing!

If that is the case, then the only solution is to replace the front assembly (cover) of the phone.

The screen polishers (that is what they really are, those liquids, like polish for your car) work only if you rub *hard* and *long*. Otherwise you'll only end up with a foggy screen (real scary). So therefore I wouldn't do that on a P-screen.

The only thing that bothers me is that there might be some kind of finishing on the screen that prtects is somewhat from scratches and that you rub it away with that polish. But when you have scratches there's not really a choice.

Be sure to have all the liquid/polish removed afterwards; the polish is embedded in a creamy substance that needs to be removed completely. If it ends up in or on other places in or on the phone it might be a disaster.

BUT the result can be very good. Even if scratches are deep, the can be moulded out a little so that they do not appear that deep.
