Hi everyone

My Sync station is arriving this week, and what I would like first is updating the phone soft to R2AE033.

Could you please tell me what I have to do to get the RIGHT FIRMWARE. I badly need the MULTI CHARACTER search in phonebook AND the ability to turn off the shutter sound (like my current R2AA003)

My current firmware:

R2AA003
prgCXC 125882_HONG_KONG_C
Camera: 3.9
CDA 102286/8 R2A
ASIAN_LAT_2

I need actually only English language

Which www address I have to start with, and which option I have to select during the process?

Correct me if I'm wrong (I never tried SEUS), but I think all you have to do is goto 's website, www.sonyericsson.com. From there you select your country and make sure you get to your local site. Then click support, fill in K700 and go to it's support page. Somewhere there you should find a SEUS link from there it will guide you through the process.

Note that the ability to turn off the shutter sound is only available in some countrys, but since it's possible for you in R2A it should be with the newer fw too.

i just noticed that your software is Hongkong..

when you upgrade it using SEUS, you will get the latest HK fw.. W/C DOESNT have the multi-character search

you need to use a third party software like www.davinciteam.com software , username, password and credit and flash it with EU1 fw...

Oh, I've got it

Have just updated my phone to R2AE033 EU1 a few min ago.
Multi-character search, shutter sound can be mute.

I've choosen the SEUS United Kingdom site instead of the site for my country and all things went automatically.

Very happy with it.

I was thinking, if I also upgrade my phone via the UK site, will my Swedish language be deleted? I also want the ability to mute shutter sound!

There is no Swedish language in EU1 package (UK site)
only english, russian, estonian, lithuanian, latvian, polish, ukrain

Dont know about other packages

do you still have your chinese input after your upgrade? What is your language pack after the upgrade? still asian latin or EU? If it's asian latin then is multicharacter search available?

The chinese input is not MINE. After upgrade, it's gone.

The software info says the following:

There is NO ASIAN langueges at all (and phone langguage, and writing language)

Hi, i have a USB cable 4 sony ericsson, model MA-8910P. Can I update my phone using this cable (I heard everyone talks about some DT-20 or something). Well?

The cable is from Romania, if this helps. (Mobile Action company)

SEUS only supports updating the firmware via a SyncStation (name of DSS-20 or DSS-25).

Not sure about other online update services (not free) if they support your cable.
