I've owned my P900 for a few months now, and two things bother me about the phone - maybe there are 3rd party solutions?

1) Is there no way to set a profile that includes call diverting? To recognize a base station? On other Sony-Ericssons, you drop the phone on a dock, you can have it automatically switch to divert (calls to my office phone)

2) When you receive a call from someone already in your contact list but from a new number, is there any way to add the number to the contact? So far the only thing I see is create a new contact.

I have said about the new contact thing before but most people thought it wasnt a problem?! I think it sucks big time.

Theres nothing you can do other than copy the number and paste it into a contact when you edit it. Annoying huh.

I had a P800 and jumped to a P910...... same gripe I have about not having that "add TO an OLD contact" thing.......

'Makes me think its such a simple addition to make by SE but then again, there may be a reason..

I dont believe there may be a software out there for this.

You can use MagicProfilesPro from Symbianwave to a) create multiple profiles, and b) in one of those, divert all calls to...

Actually, the profile management potential goes way beyond that, well worth checking out.

Don't know about "add number to existing contact..."

Actually, I had downloaded it and tried it - but initially I couldn't find that function. After your post I tried again. Turns out you have to create a contact list first before that would work.

Thanks.
