does anybody know how to go about createing images for my background? I have a t39.

This is some info about pictures from Ericsson website:
The picture must be saved as a GIF file. The picture should be 4-scale greyscale (black, white and 2 shades of grey) or black and white. Picture size must be 73 x 26 pixels or smaller for the T39. Maximum file-size should be less than 600 byte. Any picture editing program that can save pictures into GIF-format can be used.
Here you can download "My Pictures" if you donīt have any graphic software.

If you got some kind of connection between your computer and your phone you can transfer pictures between them. Otherwise you have to upload your pics to a WAP-site and download them to your phone. Ericsson has that service here
