> K700i - SMS time and date

If the phone is switched on but out of reception, when a sms comes through eventually it shows the time sent. If the phone is switched off, then on, and meanwhile an sms has been sent, it seems to show the time delivered. Annoying when you're trying to work out when they've sent you the message. I know you can go into the details section for every message, but can the default be changed to "sent" rather than "received" time.
Is this a bug or a "feature" of the phone?

Welcome! I think it's a network issue as every mobile I've ever had (and I've used all the UK networks) does what you describe.

It just seems like a pretty bizarre thing to do. All the information in there on the phone, but it chooses to show something i already know. As I'm generally pretty sure when it's delivered and all that, because it's when I turn the phone on...

I noticed this when i was roaming, because the time sent always gave UK time, despite the phone being set to Canadian Time.
Further investigation, done by switching off the phone, and then sending a text to myself, and looking at the time, prooved that indeed the P800 WAS storing the sent time, as opposed to the delivery time.
I will check out the way my S700 works, and reply....
Edit: the S700 does show the time Recieved.... damn...

I think the incoming SMS always show the time when it SUCCESSFULLY SENT OUT BY THE SERVICE CENTER - not the time it sent from the sender's phone. So the time shown must be the SMS service center time
And for sure that the network system can not recognize whether your phone is off or it's on bur out of the coverage.
