I have a R3F008 firmware and I just tried accessing my school's secure web page. Few messages "Continue with secure connection" appeared, then it asked for a username, I entered that, then for a password. As I was entering that, the phone suddenly vibrated for half a second and then the image on the display dissolved (really) and a reset occured. I tried again, still display dissolves and phone resets on the password entry. Is it a firmware bug?

It surely looks like a bug.
The phone is restarting itself because some error occured.
Did you had that issue with a previous firmware?

Hmmm...dude is the s700, really very buggy? Can one use it for say 2 months without a master reset? or firmware update? I'm planning to get one. Seems kind of a bad phone to me....

This firmware came with the phone when I got it. BTW when I have R3F008 and the latest unbranded fw is R3K004 , does that mean there were 4 other updates between those two?

I think not. They skiped the other ones. R3F -> R3K.
S700i is no "very buggy". It has its problems as all other phones do.
Hopefully, solved with firmw upgrades.

Well, to me it looks just like a bad combination of site vs. browser. Basically hits some code it can't handle. But I'm gonna have the phone updated probably today, so I'll see.

OK, got the new firmware, still crashing. Can someone try that site on your S700 pls? The URL is wis.fit.vutbr.cz (it's information system of my school
www.fit.vutbr.cz). It crashes already during loading of this site, but only when it doesn't load the images (it looks like it's still downloading) and I press Stop. That's a sure way to crash it. But when it manages to load the images, everything's fine and I can proceed to logon. So somebody please be so kind and give it a try. I just want to know if that's a general bug.

I can load the main page fine. I even stopped the images loading and it didnt crash. But when i clicked on the "Staff and Students" bit (which is i presume where you login) and it said "Unable to show selected page"

dephanix: thx for trying it. Both of the links should display a message that the site requests a username and password and then you enter it. That works on mine...really strange. I think it may be because the browser in S700 isn't a real browser, is it? I mean, it only supports XHTML. So there's probably some conflict with this page's code. I might try some Java browser.
