Hi Guys....
I have a funny question... I am sure many of u would be knowing the answer.....
While i see my memory status (RAM) on Sman with many application showing open i find the memory used is much less and when i flush those applications in order to see how much i can free my memory i find that the memory occupied becomes more.... assuming that earlier with all application showing still open the memory shown is about 42% and when flushing all of them out using SMAN the memory status shows 62%..... i doubt how can memory occupied increases by flushing the applications.....

i thought of this too and concluded that probably SMan shows in percentile the amount of FREE memory, not occupied. it's the only logical explanation.

Hi,
Well i too had the same feeling first but when u happen to click the percentage value of memory you tend to get actually value in terms of xxxxxx 320000 which clearly tells that the value shown is definatly memory occupied...... That is where my LOGIC failed and started a wave of whole confusion.....

NO!
It doesn't show memory occupied it shows memory free!!
Flush tasks & the percentage increases AND so does the actual numerical value in KB!
Wheres the confusion there?

The confusion comes when u tend to click the tab of memory and see nemurical entries to memories...... which is in format xxxxxkb/32768kb for P910i..... and logically xxxxxkb comes out to be the memory used which when calculated coincides with the percentage value shown...
and 32768kb is the total memory available.... From above format i concluded that xxxxxkb of memory is used out of 32768kb..... bez thats what standards of visual indication speak...
So here you would like to say that the visual indication is to be read in oposite direction...... Okey fits okey for me.... as long as ur asumption is correct....... Thanks for correcting my sense of reading

Of course the number of KB matches the percentage as they are the same. Both show the amount of FREE memory.
This is proven by the fact that closing apps increases free memory
