Any idea what it will be and when this will be available? I want to switch to 3G to enjoy the higher browsing speed and richer content but I love my P900 PDA function too.

We have no info on such a product yet so anything is simply rumours & guesswork at the moment.

The general consensus seems to be that the P910i successor (P1000?) will not be 3G-capable, though I sincerely hope that proves incorrect.

I find it strange that are not in a hurry to enable their top-end business handset with high-speed data transfer rates, if not the other benefits of 3G (admittedly video-calling may not be vital for business users!)

I really don't care if it has video calling or not but certainly the higher data rates are appealing

@govi

True, but I've never been a Moto-fan, and if I'm not mistaken it's only available in the UK on "3", who I wouldn't touch with an industrial-sized bargepole after my previous experience!

But a nice-looking handset nonetheless.

@Mik

Agree entirely!

Yeah, a T3 review said the A1000 was quite good, but completely let down by being restricted to 3's email account and 'walled-garden' of web/wap sites.

No full web and no accessing your own email...... so tell me, what exactly is the point in having high-speed 3G data rates then????!

I do recall reading that after installing Opera for UIQ on the A1000, people were able to surf web at high speeds, but are still unable to use the Moto A1000 as a modem.

My service provider has 2 diff wap portals, 1 for 2g and 1 for 3g. The one for 3g is more informative and feature riched. Online news streaming and surfing with the its own site is free as well. The higher speed with 3g is also another reason for my searching of a 3g pda phone. The ui of SE is good and a successor of p900 pda is my dream.
