Hi,

the IPAQ 3870 correctly finds the hbh-20 bluetooth headset, but it seems to be impossible to send any sound played on the IPAQ to the HBH-20 headset !? My headset doesn't play any sound...

Anyone knows how to use the HBH-20 headset with the IPAQ ?

Thanks a lot,
greetings,
Joris

The Ipaq H3870 doesnt have bluetooth-headset/audio profile.

I have the H3870 too,..I will actually be getting a headset profile implemented in my Ipaq soon
I'll get back with more info on this issue.

The Fujitsu Siemens LOOX have the headset profile as standard feature.
Ipaq H3970 probably have it too.

I will let you guys know, once I get it.

Another thing is,..this stuff I cant "just" send over email,..its not because I dont want to, but it wont come into my mailbox at home,..I have to go somewhere else to get this implementation done.
Another reason is, that I dont know exactly how it will be done,..e.g. software, drivers and so on.

Compaq IPaq 3870 the Bluetooth model (the first one) was listed on Compaq's website, long before the HP takeover, in their white papers as supporting synchronization with Ericsson T-68m with an "audio" profile. go search deep on their site, sorry that I cant remember exactlyy where. But im almost sure of this.
Actually I do remember that the 3870 was first released with PocketPC version 1.0 & that 2.0 was a firmware release before the company started shipping it natively.

best of luck.

I have my info from bluetooth-SIG site (Nextlink is of course a member of bluetooth special interest group).
Here are all bluetooth-devices listed (under each device are listed the different profiles, that the device use). This is the place where companies get their devices confirmed/approved...before they hit the market

Here the Compaq iPaq H3870 is listed as not having headset-profile,..and it doesnt have the OBEX/object push profile either.

LOOX from Fujitsu-Siemens have these profiles from "day-one".

I havent checked the H3970,..but it would be possible, that this new one have these profiles

I didn't see it listed amongst the options on the compaq website...bummer, it'd be cool to have headset, GSM sleeve, and Pocket PC Ipaq huh?
